Do I Really Need A Website Re-Design?

Your website is a valuable part of your marketing package, no matter what kind of business you're in. Whether you sell  pet supplies or teach ballroom dancing, your website answers questions about your product or services, shows prospective customers how to purchase, and gives them a little something extra for their time. A lot of large commercial websites will undergo a complete redesign every 18 to 24 months. Here's how you know when your website really needs to be redesigned.

This is the most common reason. Without a doubt, your users know immediately if your website is up to date or not, simply by the way that it looks. Websites with fuzzy or broken images, hard to read text and outdated layout are often avoided as internet users often automatically assume that the website is old and will have outdated content or nothing of value to offer. Let me give you an example. If you see a crumbling, dirty building on the street, with its sign barely legible and it's windows boarded up, would you want to walk into that building and do business there?  That's what I thought!

If your site has broken links or pages that are no longer getting any traffic you absolutely need a redesign! While it is often a simple fix these broken elements, these problems could be an indication of an even bigger problem: your site is disorganized or is being mishandled. This is often solved and prevented by using a good content management system that allows you to manage your content properly. If you have tons of broken links, error messages, and missing images, then you should consider a complete website redesign that will include the installation and use of a content management system.

Internet users are impatient. They don’t like having to search pages for what they’re looking for. They want quick, easy to find functionality. As a business owner, you should know what your users want, and you should direct them to that at first glance. In year's past, a website was a “set it and forget it” kind of thing, but websites today have to be evolving, adapting, and expanding...constantly. If your website isn't giving your viewers new information on a regular basis, they will stop coming by to visit...period. Sometimes you can add a blog or news feed into an existing site,  but often a major redesign  is necessary to make the content fit seamlessly and draw users back in.

This is one of the better reasons to redesign. Your company is growing, whether in your physical store locations or online, and you need to expand to accommodate this growth. Your website is a valuable part of your marketing package, no matter what kind of business you're in, so you can't ignore it.  Your website must  reflect your expanding company with a look and functionality that takes your users into the future.

So, are you convinced?  If so, then you are already at the right place. Call us so we can begin the process of getting your site up to date and functioning properly!
